September Meeting Notes

Costumes/Uniforms

• Warm-ups have been ordered; scheduled to arrive later this week, then I will take them to have artwork put on them
  • Cost jacket $75, pants $25- will be on your account with Oct. payment
• Bags- have been ordered; scheduled to arrive later this week, then I will take them to have artwork put on them
  • Cost $40 will be on your account with Oct. payment
• We are working on finding costumes for all of the dances J

 
Housekeeping

• Dancer contracts are due. Please turn into the office if you have not done so already
• All dancers need black and tan jazz shoes. They will be using both onstage.
• Attendance is crucial to a successful team! NEW: Attendance Request Form on the blog. Please fill out for any dates you have conflicts. Please note that absences may result in dancers being sidelined for performances.
• DAA Team calendar has been added to the team member page. All dates for extra practices, events and performances will be posted.
  • Team Moms: please let us know of planned events so we can add them to the calendar 😊

 
Upcoming Events (more will be addedJ)

• September 16: Ruby Practice 7-8am Don’t be late!
• September 23: Nexus Convention- Cost $95/$105; please let Kim know if you are going
• November 4th:  BDTA Fall Workshop- Dancers will take ballet, musical theater and hip hop from guest teachers at Sawtooth Middle School. It will be in the morning, 8:30-noon (11:45 for ages 8-10). $10 covers classes and t-shirt- sign up from newsletter
• November 25th: Festival of Trees- date/time to be confirmed
• December: Holiday Show
• January: Freeze Frame at?? Location TBD
• February 17-18: Tremaine in Vancouver, WA
• March 3rd: Adjudication Day – all teams “practice” competition
• April 20-21th Team Dance Competition- all teams group dances

 
Fundraising

• Coupon Books: Going on now! Take orders and collect $25 per book (dancers will get 50% for their fundraising account)
  • Orders are due by Tuesday, September 19th
• Flower Bulbs: Going on now! Collect orders and payment (dancers will get 50% for their fundraising account)

• Halloween Dance Party October 21

  • Will need help with set up, chaperones, clean up, treats, decorations
• Nutcracker Flowers

• Sponsor letters- get them from the blog and send them out to relatives, make appointments with businesses, etc. You can make changes to the letter to personalize it.

Solos, Duos, Trios

• Contracts are on the blog. Choreography needs to be done by the end of Christmas break.
• Teachers need to have first pick from the costume catalog. Possibly “recycle” a costume?
