Costumes/Uniforms
  • Warm-ups: need to be ordered. Parents to verify sizing.
    • Cost jacket $80, pants $30- charges will be deducted from your $500 deposit
  • Bags- let me know if your dancer needs one
    • Cost $40 will be deducted from deposit
 
Housekeeping
  • Dancer contracts are due. Please turn into the office if you have not done so already
  • All dancers need black and tan jazz shoes. They will be using both onstage.
  • Attendance is crucial to a successful company! Note: Attendance Request Form on the blog. Please fill out for any dates you have conflicts.
  • DAA Company calendar is also on the company member page. All dates for extra practices, events and performances will be posted.
    • Company Moms: volunteers? Help plan social events, celebrate birthdays, etc

  • September 15th: Meridian Block Party performance at Kleiner Park. Arrive at 10:00 (meet behind amphitheater) for 11:00 am show.
  • October 20th: Lion King Masterclass at DAA
  • November 3rd: BDTA Fall Workshop- Dancers will take ballet, musical theater and hip hop from guest teachers at Sawtooth Middle School. It will be in the morning, 8:30-noon (11:45 for ages 8-10). $10 covers classes and t-shirt- sign up from newsletter coming soon
  • November 5th:  Globetrotters Halftime performance at Century Link Arena
  • November 9th: BSU Football Halftime performance- more details coming
  • November 17th : Boise Holiday Parade
  • November 24th: Festival of Trees performance- time TBD
  • November 30th: Christmas in Meridian – show opener for Santa
  • December 22nd: Nutcracker and Holiday Show at Centennial High School
  • January 19th: Freeze Frame at?? Location TBD
 
Fundraising
  • Coupon Books: Going on now! Take orders and collect $25 per book (dancers will get 50% for their fundraising account)
    • Orders are due by Tuesday, September 18th

Performance Schedule
  • Team Showcase- Friday May 11th- BSU Special Events Center- at 6:30- Dancers please arrive at 5:45 to get organized and stretched. (schedule included)
All proceeds from ticket sales go to Celebration Party on Tuesday June 5th at Urban Air (details to come)

Fat Boy Ice Cream Fundraiser: Starts now! Until April 22nd. Follow online selling instructions on flyers! Ice cream boxes sold at $25/box, dancers get $10/box. Delivery date 4/27 around 6:00, will want to pick up at that time so they do not melt!

Performance Calendar
  • March 3 Nexus Competition for Solos
  • April 6-7 Dare 2 Dance Competition for Ruby Teams and Solos in Payette
  • April 20-21 Team Dance Competition for all teams (Ruby team fees due March 1st)

Tremaine Convention this weekend in Vancouver!
  • Put your dancer's name in everything! Remind them to keep their bag zipped shut.
  • Lunches- please bring $10 in cash to be collected Saturday morning. There is a committee purchasing food for Saturday and Sunday lunch as well as snacks to keep our dancers going with healthy fuel.
  • Dancers are divided into classes strictly by age as required by Tremaine. Dancers may not switch rooms! Here are the groups that will be dancing in ballrooms together:
    • Junior Room: Tessa and Katy - will report to Alyson
    • Teen Room: Audra, Toby, KD, Kaia, Amy, Sofia, Reegan, Ashlee, Lillian, Jaden, Alcea, and Linnae- will report to Masina
    • Senior Room: Kea, Erin, Emma, Nevaeh, Ashly, Audrey, Becca, Grace, Madeline, Emily, Danielle, Farryn, Allison, Megan, Molly and Sydney- will report to Jessica
  • Please meet your instructor at 7:30 am in front of your groups ballroom to receive your wristband. These must be worn for the duration of the weekend- do not take them off!
  • I will send Remind texts out to keep you updated with any new information over the weekend, including where to meet for lunches, etc.
  • Soloists are competing Friday evening. You are encouraged to come and cheer them on. Ruby teams will compete Saturday evening.
  • Convention schedule: (pick up class schedule upon arrival at hotel) Convention will conclude on Sunday at 3:30
    • Saturday 7:30 am Faculty Jam
      8:00 am Classes Begin
      3:00 pm Classes End
      4:00  pm Competition Doors Open
      4:00 pm Competitor Orientation in Ladies Dressing Room
      4:30 pm SEMI-FINALS COMPETITION – All Groups
Team Fees
  • Last payment for the season was included with February tuition
  • Any accounts that are behind- please make arrangements to get caught up so I can pay for the remainder of competition entry fees
  • Expense spreadsheet can be viewed at the office
  • Team fees still do not cover all payroll expenses- staff will need to look at this for the future and evaluate how to staff rehearsals and performances.
Summer training opportunity
  • Personal training coaching available as a group rate at Rock & Armour- info from Kim (has been emailed)

  • Dancers will need proper dance attire and all shoes for two days of classes- does not need to be all black

Halloween Party Follow Up- we raised $250. Had a great turn-out with lots of young dropped-off children.
