Adult Ballet 6 week session Get into the studio and explore the wonderful world of ballet! For only $65 you can experience ballet presented to an all-adult class. Classes will be Monday evenings at 6:30 starting November 13th and run for 6 weeks. Leotards and tutus are not needed! Wear what you are comfortable in and will be able to move freely. Sign up here. Exceptional Movers Adaptive Dance Class We are re-opening the Exceptional Movers Adaptive Dance Class on November 7th at 6:15 pm! All of our special needs friends are welcome to try the class for free to see if it will be a good fit for them. Please let us know if you are planning to come and the age of your child as well as any sensory or developmental needs they have so we can help them to be successful in the class. New! Referral Rewards Program You asked, and here it is! We are starting a new referral rewards program for our loyal dance families! For every new student that you refer and registers to join the DAA family, you will receive a $10 studio store credit to be used towards any purchase. As your dancer needs new tights or grows out of dance shoes, you can be earning credit to get them for free! There is no limit to the amount of credits you can earn, they do not expire, and this is an on-going program- starting now!

The Dance Arts Performance Teams are throwing a Halloween Dance Party! All ages are welcome, parents may drop off their children or stay and have some fun too! We will have fun games and a Spook House running from 6-8 pm and finish the night with dancing from 8-9. The costume contest will be at 7:45! Join us! $5/person or $8/for you and a friend! Wear a Costume to class October 23-28 During the week of October 23-28, all students are encouraged to wear a costume to dance class! Please make sure that vision is not obstructed and the costume allows you to move freely as we will be having regular dance lessons that week. Classes will be held on Halloween until 6:00 pm. All later classes are cancelled for the evening so you can enjoy trick or treating with your families. Students are welcome to attend another class to make up the missed lesson. DAA has been putting on a children's production of The Nutcracker for nine years! We decided it was time to switch it up and do something new. We will bring the Nutcracker back, but we will do it on a 1-2 year rotation with new shows like, "Rudolph the Dancing Reindeer!" This year many of our classes will be dancing to music inspired by the Rudolph story. Class assignments will be posted and our staff will be making costume selections soon. Costume rental fees will be due in November. As soon as our show venue contract is in place, we will announce the date, location and time for the show. Thank you for your patience on these details! This is going to be a really fun show! If you would like to help with creating new props and scenery, stop by the office and let us know! Boise Dance Teacher's Association Fall Workshop You are invited! Special dance workshop for students ages 8-up! BDTA's annual fall workshop for ages 8-up is on November 4th at Sawtooth Middle School! Dancers will take class in ballet, musical theater and hip hop from professional master teachers brought in from other areas of the country! The cost is only $10 (payable in cash) and each dancer will receive a t-shirt! Please pay your workshop fee at the studio office. Dancers will be dropped off at 8:45 am and picked up at noon (11:45 for ages 8-10). Please only take a spot if you are sure you can attend! I wanted to send a heart felt thank you to all of our dance families! We had two great shows last weekend and the staff at DAA is super proud of all of their students! Promotional Photography took photos of all of the dances and you can view the photos here, which are available for purchase. Class photos and DVD's will be ready soon, and I will send out another email when they are ready to be picked up at the studio. Remember, each family receives a copy of the DVD as part of their performance fees! What is next year's recital theme? We want your help in choosing the theme for next year! During the summer session, now through August 1st, we will be accepting your submissions for the 2018 recital theme. Our staff will choose the winner at our retreat in August. The winner will receive a free performance package for the next season! You may turn in your submissions by email or in the office. We can't wait to see what you come up with! See yourself on the big screen at our premiere recital showing! All students who have registered for summer or fall classes are eligible for two free tickets to the theater showing of the recital at the Majestic Cinemas on Monday June 19th at 6:00! Additional tickets may be purchased for $5.00. This is a fun opportunity for our dancers to watch the show that they star in! Tickets may be picked up at the office June 13-15 between 4:30-8:00. Join us for the Dairy Days Parade on June 23rd! All students are invited to participate in the Dairy Days Parade on June 23rd! Dancers under age 7 may ride on our float and ages 7-up will learn a routine to dance the route. We will wear our Ruby Celebration t-shirts and black shorts with sneakers. As the parade gets closer we will know the line up and where to meet, but those dancing the route will need to arrive at 6:00 to learn the routine. This parade is a fun Meridian tradition that we love to be a part of, so don't miss out! Join us for Leap! on Opening Night!
Dance Arts Academy has partnered with the Majestic Cinemas to bring you discount tickets to the opening night presentation of Leap! on April 21st. See the trailer above and reserve your discounted tickets by clicking this link. Calling dancers for a flash mob performance! We have been invited to do a surprise Flash Mob at the Capital Church's Community Egg Hunt on April 15th. Interested dancers ages 7-up are encouraged to sign up! The dance will be a simple, yet fun dance, similar to parade routine style. Easy for any age to learn and perform! We will have a few Friday practices to learn the dance and go over the details of how the Flash Mob will work at the event. Those dates are April 7th and 14th 5-6:30 pm at the Dance Arts Studio! $15 fee for t-shirt. Sign up here! Dance Camp Scholarship Oppourtunity Students interested in attending the CSI/IDAA Dance Camp this summer may apply for a scholarship by writing an essay on what dance means to them, and how a scholarship would help them attend camp. The deadline to submit essays is April 12th. Click here to learn more about the camp. Scholarships are funded through fundraising efforts of the Boise Dance Teachers Association. Hey, Dance Dads: You are invited to perform at this years' recital! After a successful Dad's Week in class, we have decided to invite all the Dad's back to learn a dance together and perform at our Spring Shows on June 3rd! We will have 4 weeks of practices on Friday Nights from 6:00-7:00 starting on April 28th at the studio. There will be a $25 charge to cover lessons and T Shirt for the performance! We can't wait for you to dance with your dad! DAA is hosting a "Leap" movie premiere on March 3rd at Majestic Cinemas! Finally, there is an animated movie being released about an aspiring ballerina that promotes hard work, self confidence and passion! DAA has partnered with the Majestic Theater to offer discounted tickets to opening night on March 3rd to the 6:00show. Tickets will be $9.00, sold at the DAA office beginning February 20th. There will even be a special dance performance prior to the show! This is sure to be a special event you and your dancer won't want to miss! DAA's Annual Daddy Daughter Date Night March 10th Enjoy an evening out with Daddy and experience the beautiful Capital City Event Center! Tickets are only $25 per couple and include a taco bar dinner, dancing, and a keepsake photo. Additional children are only $10. Tickets will be available for pre-sale beginning February 13th at Dance Arts Academy. Tickets will be an additional $5.00 at the door. Note: This is not a show order, just a list of classes that will be in each show. Ad forms have also gone home in the last week. Please help us put together a successful yearbook by supporting the project! Do you, or someone you know, own a business that could place an ad? Well wishes for your dancer are also encouraged! These are keepsake books that will be kept for years and you could earn valuable prizes, including free tuition for the next dance season! There is no limit to the number of dancers who can achieve the free tuition mark! Ad sales are due March 9th. Now registering for summer camps! Registration is now open for DAA Summer Camps! Your dancer won't want to miss the fun in these exciting camps: Barbie Blast, Minion Mania, Beauty and the Beast and Pirates and Princesses! These camps are geared to ages 3-8 and are only $25 each. Boise Holiday Parade November 19th Parade sweatshirts have been ordered and should be available to be passed out the week of November 14th. Participants who are dancing the parade route will need to arrive by 8:45 am and those riding on the float need to arrive by 9:30 am. Exact line up location will be emailed out to you soon. Parents are welcome to walk along with us- we can always use some help handing out information about DAA! Thank you for joining us- the parade is always a fun family event! Festival of Trees Saturday, November 26th Our annual festival of Trees performance will be Saturday, November 26th from 4:00-4:45 pm at the Boise Centre on the Grove. Performers need to arrive in costume at 3:15 to the warm-up room (see here for entrance map). Notes with costume details are being sent home in the next week. Some classes will be renting items for their costume, while others will wear items they already have. If you have questions, please ask your instructor. Here are the festival details they have sent us: Parking Parking is free at the meters all day on Saturday. Other parking options are available, though the Festival cannot reimburse these expenses. They include: The Grove Street Garage - located on 10th St. and Front St. is pre-pay parking. First hour is free, $2.50/hr., $12 daily maximum Republic Parking NW City Centre - (located on the corner of Front St and 9th St. across the street from the Boise Centre) - Parking rates are: first hour is free, $2.50 per subsequent hour (or partial hour) $12 daily maximum. Admission prices are as follows: (dancers do not need to pay admission, but they must enter through the performer entrance). Adults - $7 Military - $5 Children (3-12) - $4 Children (2-under) - Free Seniors (62+) - $4 Your participation in the Festival of Trees assists Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in the delivery of safe, high quality compassionate care using innovative technologies to improve the health of our communities. Net proceeds from this year's Festival will support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Saint Alphonsus. We hope you and your family will participate in the Festival of Trees and join us in our Mission: "We serve together at Saint Alphonsus in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and healing presence within our communities." Thank you for helping to make this year's Festival of Trees a success! The Nutcracker and Holiday Showcase Our annual Nutcracker performance is on Saturday, December 17th at 4:00 in the Meridian Middle School Auditorium. Reserved seating tickets will be available starting November 14th at noon for $7.00 or $6.00 with a non-perishable food donation for the Meridian Food Bank. Bring in your food donation to receive a discount code for your tickets to use when purchasing them online. Online Ticket Link Tickets are only available for purchase online! All performers will receive their rental costume the first week of December, so all Nutcracker show fees need to be paid as soon as possible. You will need to provide your own tights, which are available at the studio. Please remember that all costumes are numbered will need to be returned to the studio following the Christmas break.
