​While we do not want to turn your child into a pageant queen, we do want you to be able to see her beautiful face on the stage! Stage lights are super bright and will wash out the faces of all the dancers, so wearing a little stage make up will help.

For younger dancers we recommend wearing blush, and lip color and maybe some mascara. Older dancers will want to wear full foundation, eye shadow, lip color, blush, and possibly false eyelashes. Remember we are only asking make up to be worn on the stage, and its purpose is so their faces can be seen from a distance. 

While make up is not required, we ask you consider it for your dancer and know it is part of dressing up in costume for their special performance!

Picture Schedule
Class pictures are held at Dance Arts Academy and students need to wear their recital costume with hair and make-up done. We will not hold regular dance classes during picture week. Students will only come for their scheduled picture time. Please note we will do individual and group photos for 2-3 classes each half hour time slot. Picture packages will be available for purchase. Payment for pictures is due on picture day.

​Our staff has been watching all of their students growth over the past several months and have made their recommendations for which classes they should enroll in for the next season. Each student will receive a class recommendation form. We want to give our current students priority registration and for an added incentive, we have put together a special premiere showing of our recitals at the Majestic Cinemas! Your dancer will be the star on the big screen!

When your class placement form has been turned in, you will receive two tickets to the movie showing on June 19th at 6:00! Additional tickets may be purchased for only $5.00. Just a $25 tuition deposit is required to hold your spot in the classes of your choice. The balance of your tuition will be charged on the 5th of the month when the session begins.

We are really excited to hold this special event for our dancers to celebrate their performance and another great year of dance!

​Recital day is like Christmas for a dancer! Months of preparations and the building of excitement have gone into making recital day special for everyone! 

To cover the high costs of putting on such a performance, reserved seating tickets will be available online beginning May 8th at 6:00 pm for $9.00. 

Online ticketing will end on June 2nd at 6:00 pm and door tickets will be available for $11.00 the day of the show.

For families that have dancers in both shows, you will receive a $1.00 discount per ticket when you purchase tickets for both shows. No coupon code is needed. The discount will be applied to your cart when tickets are present for both performances.

​As part of the performance package you have been paying with your monthly fees, each dancer will receive a recital t-shirt with the entire cast listed on the back! Since this is the 40th anniversary of Dance Arts Academy, we are celebrating our ruby year and the values we hold as an organization as part of the shirt design.

Please stop in the lobby to help choose the shirt size for your dancer. We will also use these shirts for the Meridian Dairy Days Parade on June 23rd.

​Well yes, you do wear underwear under your costume- your tights! Just like you do not wear underwear with your swimsuit, the same is for dance costumes and leotards. Dance tights are the appropriate under garment for class and performance, and the younger that dancers get used to the concept, the easier it is, and no one will be noticing the unsightly bulk of underwear showing at dance and on stage.

All dancers will need tights for the recital! Make sure you have the right color to go with your costume by checking with your instructor or at the office.
